Fotocrônica: Off a Truck

There is nothing in this world like fresh, ripe pineapple.  Sweet, juicy, sunshine.  Today’s deal was five pineapples for R$5.00 (less than USD$2.50).

Once there were five, now there are four. Yum.
Once there were five, now there are four. Yum.

How did we get such an amazing price? They were sold to us off a truck traveling through town.  In Brazil you often get deals like this.  A trucks flips over, cargo is tipped, and it’s sold at a steal.  Or so they say.  It reminds me of my social work days where the homeless clients would show up in the shelter with a brand new item.  Where did they get it?  “Found it in a dumpster” was usually the answer.  Where did they get it?  “Fell off a truck.” It could happen.  Accidents happen all the time. Pass the pineapple.

Never miss a crônica!
